CertiPUR is a voluntary program that tests, analyzes, and certifies polyurethane foam used in bedding and upholstered furniture based on environmental, health, and safety standards.
The foam grades offered by Foam London meet CertiPUR requirements and are specifically certified to:
Be manufactured without heavy metals such as mercury, lead, or cadmium
Be produced without dyes classified as carcinogenic or allergenic under US and EU regulations
Be free from phthalate plasticizers
Be made without substances known to cause cancer or inherited genetic damage
Emit low levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
We have submitted foam samples and successfully obtained the CertiPUR certification, which remains valid for three years. During this period, control tests are carried out annually to confirm that our foam continues to meet all CertiPUR specifications. Choosing a mattress or piece of furniture from a CertiPUR‑certified company means the foam contains no harmful chemicals and has very low VOC emissions.
We adhere to the strict CertiPUR criteria and are committed to ensuring that all our foam grades and mattress covers are clean and safe for use. Similar standards with comparable quality requirements for polyurethane foam include Oeko‑Tex 100 and the EU Ecolabel. Our mattress covers, which are mainly imported from Europe, also carry these fabric certifications. All Foam London foam grades are CertiPUR certified.
